Using a laptop cooling pad..have one...used it...it does help if your using your laptop on your lap in bed where the blankets on the bed can hinder cooling or something like that. However on a desk it wont make a difference. The temps will stay the same as without the laptop cooling pad.

I have to agree - just bought and returned one (Cooler Master). Maybe for some laptops with many vents on the bottom of the housing it makes sense, but in my case temp. was lower about 1-2 Celsius degrees.

I wonder if anyone can say cooling pad did good job in his/her case?

I've bought one these from ebay:

It does the job

I use circular felt pads that are sticky to raise the bottom rear of my laptop an inch or two.

I was using a cooling pad that i had laying around but the problem was that the fan location on it wasnt ideal.  I ended up building my own little riser feet to lift the back of it up about an inch or so.  I built the feet out of foam and cardboard.  Works pretty well.

DIY rules :)

I am using the Cooler Master U3 as a pad, but mostly just as inactive holder for a better airflow. It has 3 fans, but they do little to cooling down, I guess they can help to reduce temps by 2 - 3 degrees.

When I really need to cool down, I use two "vacuum" coolers (lot of people call it vacuum, but it just helps to drain the heat a bit faster with increased airflow) from Coolcold.
I didn´t expect it to help much, but to my surprise, it managed to decrease the temp by almost 10°C! You can get them from Aliexpress, It´s super cheap while actually effective.

Here´s a video comparison of my A17 (2014) temps while running the Unigine Valley at high settings captured with NZXT CAM (don´t mind the GPU load, it only shows 0 or 99 load) with and without those coolers on both vents.

Thank you

nope dont use one

Yes I also use a book most of the time. Or a little wooden block to keep my laptop's backside free.
