Epic Games is gearing up for the Fortnite World Cup 2019, featuring a prize pool of a staggering $100,000,000. Anyone else getting visions of Scrooge McDuck diving into his money bin?

The event will kick off on April 8 beginning with the Online Open qualifiers, which wraps on June 16 after a run of ten weeks. During this time, $1,000,000 will be up for grabs each week for eligible players. You'll have to be at least 13-years-old to enter.

Once the top 100 solo and top 50 duo players have been decided, the Fortnite World Cup then moves to New York City from July 26-28 for the finals, where players will be slugging it out for a prize pool of $30,000,000. Blimey! The Solo Champion will walk away with $3,000,000, although everyone is guaranteed at least $50,000.

While the World Cup is primarily targeted at Fortnite Battle Royale, the press release confirms that players can expect 'additional events at the Fortnite World Cup Finals featuring fun custom challenges in different modes and formats.'

Beyond the World Cup, Fortnite will be hosting numerous tournaments throughout the year, which offer weekly cash prizes of $1,000,000. 'These tournaments will feature a wider variety of modes and formats to open up the competitive playing field,' reads the blurb.
