Oxenfree for free in Epic Games very soon

  • 1632

In a few hours from now, on March 21st until April 4th you can grab your own copy of Oxenfree for free in Epic Games.

As you might know already Epic Games are offering a free game every 2 weeks in their store, and right now that game is Slime Rancher. But the clock is ticking and we'll soon be able to claim Oxenfree.

Also once Oxenfree is up for grabs it will be announced which one will come next. Exciting!

``We use a tracking pixel (tracking.js) for our Support-A-Creator program so we can pay creators. We also track page statistics.`` this is from a company that's worth 8billion or more..and they still need to track you
``The launcher sends a hardware survey (CPU, GPU, and the like) at a regular interval as outlined in our privacy policy (see the “Information We Collect or Receive” section). You can find the code here.``

Just redeemed! Epic Store keep giving away games!

They give away games to farm information from everyone that installs the client. You don't even have to run the client for it to periodically scan a system and relay scanned data back to varied locations. Based on PCaps and research of the destination IPs, not all of those destinations are apparently EPIC affiliated. There are varied destinations that are obscured behind cloud hosts and some that solely resolve to ISP registrations. Additionally, investigation of process and resource calls would seem to indicate that the "(CPU, GPU and the like)" referenced by https://na.alienwarearena.com/member/_Knightwolf_ would include a vast section of any given host system to include, what appears to be drive enumeration and and STRINGS from relayed data indicate possibility of SAM file extraction...what purpose would it have for that?

As someone that at least values a measure of privacy, I have completely removed all EPIC content from my systems and cannot, in good conscience, suggest this client for use by others.
