Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot teases the return of Splinter Cell

  • 199

The last Splinter Cell game came in 2013, in the form of Blacklist. Since then, the fans have eagerly awaited for Sam Fisher to make a comeback, but Ubisoft have been almost radio silent. That has changed recently as Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot has spoken with game website gameblog.fr, and the teased the return of the Splinter Cell series (the following quote was translated with Google Translate):

Regarding Splinter Cell, the series will offer new experiences, but it will rather on different devices (note: the term used here is "devices"). We work a little ... a lot on the license, so that it can someday come back. I can not tell you when, because it takes time, but we have to find the right moment to make a comeback.

From the looks of it Ubisoft plan to release the upcoming game on mutiple devices which means that either the game will come to mobile too, or maybe to new platforms like Google Stadia. Hopefully we'll hear more about a new Splinter Cell game soon.

Finally! I'm waiting for Rayman, now, too!

I wanted to say Rayman's doing better, but I forgot the last one was 6 years ago just like Splinter Cell... hopefully they have plans to continue both franchises, maybe even continue with other titles such as the Raving Rabbids spinoff, Prince of Persia (which was a fun series, imo would deserve a new game), Call of Juarez (Gunslinger was pretty great, and this one too was released back in 2013) and maybe even a new M&M RPG or strategy game. The thing is, Ubi have some great franchises on their hands but it seems they have forgotten about them.
