Alienware Arena is launching a new algorithm to prevent people using exploitative scripts

Ever since the introduction of the Arena Rewards, a more rigid enforcement of rules have been established and enforced for the forum itself. People can now earn physical rewards, forum advantages and discounts for the Dell store (Assuming you're Canadian/US).

This of course is not a perfect system, and edges are constantly being smoothed out. No matter what system you have in place, if it is a digital currency that can be redeemed for a reward, exploitative actions will always occur, and it is the job of the administrative individuals to mitigate the exploitative gate that people can make use of.

Introducing the Triple A (Alienware Automatic Accounts)

For the many parts of your forum activity, you have been talking with automatic alienware accounts that run under a script to respond on basic threads or posts.

These bots act as a conduit for digital data being processed on this forum. They basically trigger any unidentified activity in a user's pattern, this of course refers to users employing scripts to their advantage.

The "Converse and be Merry" Procedure

Non-US users of this forum may know the occasional "Converse and be Merry" quest. The completion of the quest requires you to create one or multiple posts on the forum.

Every time this quest is active, threads like these will spawn:

These threads basically attracts a multitude assortments of users from different backgrounds, and are paired with our automatic bots. While it was a simple quest for ARP reward, the "Converse and be Merry" quest was used as a more advanced method of detecting automated scripts.

They contain hundreds of pages of posts for users to complete the quest, however 63%-70% of the posts were done by automated bots. These bots ensures a proper filter and pattern recognition in order to properly detect the malicious actors emplying scripts to their advantage.

These Triple A's (Alienware Automatic Accounts) were not created during the introduction of the Arena Rewards, in fact they were employed years ago:

These bot accounts were active for a long time in order to ensure a proper filter to the site's fluctuation of digital data. The high traffic data of the Triple A's have been the main reason as to why the current state of the forum has been set in a delayed response time to threads, like new posts not updating the present time stamps of the threads and such.

E.T.A? Soon™

Currently we have no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) for this new algorithm. Further data will be evaluated to ensure a smooth transition. This reveal will not affect the present development of the algorithm, as many of the critical procedures have been established and set in motion.

wow, I mean, I've always just posted a few words to the twice required to finish the quest, it never crossed my mind someone would even set up a bot to skip the minute it only takes...

How awkward is this... people go that far for a few simple interaction with other people? All they wanted is a little touch with the community...damn
