CD Projekt among "50 Companies to Watch in 2020" by Bloomberg
The financial predictions are more than impressive and give the companty absolutely 1st place in the ranking:
- estimated sales growth: 446.12%
- estimated EPS growth: 1183.13%
As Matthew Kanterman (analyst) says:
CD Projekt SA, Poland’s largest video game maker, could beat analysts’ 2020 sales forecasts with the April release of its much-anticipated role-playing game, Cyberpunk 2077. The game could sell 20 million units in the launch year.
The Witcher 3 took 4 years to achieve this result (in terms of units sold).
Interestingly - CD Projekt is a company on the European market with unprecedented stock market growth! Since the debut in 2009 on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, the value of the company has increased by 21,000%. Initially worth PLN 6.6, the shares have reached the price of PLN 270 within 10 years. No other company - according to data from the European STOXX index - has not recorded such a huge jump so far.
I wonder if other Polish game developers will do equally well: 11 bit studios (Frostpunk, This war of mine) or Techland (Call of Juarez, Dead Island, Dying Light)? And why there is no game industry giants like EA, Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard, etc. in the Bloomberg's rating?
Will Cyberpunk 2077 really meet the expectations? We will find out April 16, 2020, when the game comes out on PCs, PS4 and Xbox One.
