Alienware X51 R3 - XMP support and using Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2666MHz ram

  • 2

Could use some support here, I picked up some - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDRr4 2666MHz ram.

But I've been unable to run it at 2666MHz at 1.2 volts. The system doesn't boot up and makes a beeping sound. I've tried setting the bios to 1.3 volts and I get past the black screen and Alienware logo and spinning wheel then it freezes.

I was however able to get it run 2400MHz at 1.2 volts without any noticeable issues.

Is there anyway to get it to run at 2666MHz?

I didn't see any XMP settings in the bios if that was the reason why it wouldn't run. Does anyone know if this is supported?

Running the latest 1.2.8 bios.

I have got 2667MHz with Crucial CT2K16G4DFRA266 (DDR4-2666, 16GB x2 Kit).

This X51R3 probably does not support XMP. Therefore, it is assumed that memory that supports 2667 MHz as its rated frequency must be used.

The memory shown above operates at 2667 MHz with the default settings of Auto frequency and 1.2 V voltage, simply by loading OC1.
