Steam Summer Sale is on and Steam Grand Prix Metagame will let you Win Games from your Wishlist

  • 2183

The Steam Summer Sale starts today and will be on for two weeks till 7th July 10 am.  With the sale, Steam has introduced a new metagame - Steam Grand Prix.

In Steam Grand Prix, players choose a team from a selection of five racers: a tortoise, hare, cockatiel, pig, or corgi, each with their own unique style of vehicle.

As a daily reward for burning rubber on the track, contributing racers from teams that come in first, second or third place have a random chance to win a game from their wishlist.  For Teams that place in the final, all contributing racers have a chance to win a wishlisted game.

You start with a meter that has a capacity set at 100 points each day, and you get an additional 100 points for every dollar you spend. You can then earn points up to your total boost meter for collecting achievements and quests from your own library.

Full set of rules is here.

Make sure you update your wishlist if you participate so you can win the games you really want!

Steam Grand Prix is definitely not immediately intuitive. This video might be helpful if you're interested and don't want to read all the rules.

only a few people from the first 3 teams will win anything, don't make it sound like there is even a chance of getting something.

and the sale system at all is confusing as hell for me... and the storepage is a scrollfest with too many useless banners and buttons, yeah... for me personally as well, the worst sale so far :(

I don't know about you guys, but I bloody hate this bloody thing. It's the stupidest, most convoluted, least enjoyable event Valve's done in a long time! Honestly I would rather have nothing at all than this mess.

Just collect points lol...by playing games or just activating a game that participates in this event (all previous achievements of a specific game can earn points as well)... every 15k points can give you 5dollar/5euro to use with any purchase. AND it is accumulative. So you can just gather e.g. 75k points, and with that you have 25 dollar/euro to spend on a steam game. And since this event will have multiple days, you can earn up to purchase a game for free by playing games...

Not just 3, but 300 + 200 + 100 people from 1st, 2nd and 3rd command accordingly. It's 600 people a day.

It's not the best chance for korgi team participants, which seems got a half of steam users :D

But 2nd and 3rd team will have a better chance.
