Astellia let players chose between subscription and buy-to-play

  • 2156

After collecting players feedback, new mmorpg Astellia's team decided to let players be able to try the game for a month with subscription, instead of requiring to buy it. I think it's a great idea that will allow more players to try it and maybe like it.

What do you guys think ?

it's stupid, if you like the game, then you buy it, if you don't like it, you buy it and then you ask for a refund (they gotta if you played it for less than 2 hours and before the 14th day of the purchase)
subscribing is just a waste

MMO's in general is good to be played for more than 2 hours if u want to have a good idea if u like it or not . For example ffxiv is so sluggish and bad at the start it is hard to like later on though it becomes really good so yeah I think it is fair to try it out 1st with a sub and then choose for yourself and not to rely on 2h refund policies.

Any new game takes some time to get used to. 2 hours is only a test if the game runs on your specific setup. I think it's a great idea to offer some sort of demo. Although I think WoW with their 'free to level 20' is even better.

Yeah, I think more publishers / developers should follow the same way and offer gamers more choices on their economic model. It's not perfect, but at least you don't need to spend  40 dollars or more to try the game, so it will allow more people to play it at launch.
