Upgrade GTX 690 on R4

  • 89

Hello.

I want to upgrade the GTX 690 that came with my R4.

I was thinking about the 1060. Any advice?

Also, I'm currently getting a DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION when installing any nVidia driver greater than 378.78 (which is old). When (if) I install the 1060 (or whatever) I will have to update the driver. Won't that still cause a DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Just make sure your MoBo will support it

As long as it's PCIe 3.0 it should be fine, right?

Yes !

What's this watchdog business? Is it a Windows 10 nuisance? Running Windows 7 on an Aurora r4 with a 1080ti and have no issues updating the video drivers.
