DIY Steam Bundles

  • 4

With the rapidly growing number of games on Steam it gets harder by the day to catch the eyes of potential buyers.

Especially small indie developers have been vocal about the dwindling visibility of their games which are drowned by the tsunami of new releases.

In an attempt to provide strength by numbers Valve offers a new feature in Steamworks for developers. Circumventing the notorious sluggishness of Valve's proverbial bureaucracy (Valve time) developers can collaborate in a bundle on their own without the involvement of Valve.

If consent on terms and conditions of a bundle is reached by the involved developers the bundle can go live.

It will be like the KEEP YOUR POLITICS bundle but without the need of working together with Valve employees to set up the bundle.

Aside from gaining more visibility for indies this would be a perfect means to support a common cause like itch.io's Racial Justice bundle from last year with over 1,500 contributions from a wide variety of developers.
