Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti GPU Temps

  • 2

I have an Alienware Aurora R13 with the Intel 12900F, 32GB of RAM and the Nvidia RTX 3080 TI graphics card.  I have the clear case with the Cryo-Tech cooling as well.  If I keep the thermal profile in the ACC set to "Performance", I am seeing GPU temps while playing COD MW2 at 1440P ultra settings hit 80 degrees and pretty much stay close to that.  If I drop the resolution to 1080P with the same thermal profile, I see temps of about 75 degrees.  I created a "Game" thermal profile where whenever I launch COD MW2, the fans kick up to 35% capacity.  This will drop the GPU temps a bit, but it sounds like a jet engine.  I prefer to game without the fans that loud if possible.  Is a consistent 80 degrees with this card normal?  Could temps this high damage the card?  Curious if others out there with similar setup run their own thermal profile or simply use the stock ACC ones while gaming.  Any information/suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.
