Top right of this page, click on the blue cog icon and select 'profile'. Then click on 'Go to My Artifacts Showroom >'. Now find the artifact and click unequip beneath it.

If the slot doesn't unlock after the 24h cooldown as it's supposed to, you can force update the page's info by "upgrading" an artifact you can't actually upgrade (so you don't lose the fragments).
